Healing Within Mission Statement Our mission is to assist and empower our clients to be well within, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Joyous Living Center
of Wellness
VISION
The vision for Joyous Living, Center of Wellness is to create a
place were each person feels loved and accepted for who they are and
creates opportunities for learning, healing, contributing and
receiving from each other. As each person moves toward Wellness, we
all move toward Wellness. The programs, therapies and experiences
encompass many aspects of what is involved in creating a more
healthy life and life style. The programs and offerings will
grow and develop in stages for what is in the highest good of this
community.
FINANCIAL STATUS
The center will be created with a non-profit umbrella but have for
profit businesses within. A fund-raiser will be hired for
consultation and implementation. Grants will be researched and
written with the intent of having a healing center and community
center in the Roseville area. Monies will also be donated by
those in the community and metro area. The center will have
sustainable practices so will not require a lot of money to maintain
once it is built. The center’s mission will be to support the
existing community and not compete with what already exists.
BUILDING
The existing structure will have to be torn down and the land
totally cleaned of toxins. The new structure constructed will
be environmentally sustainable. Currently, we believe it
may be a two story structure and in a shape that faces north, south,
east, and west, symbolizing drawing in and working with all aspects
of life. The building and surrounding area will be beautiful
to behold and be in, as it creates a climate of health and
wholeness.
The current location being considered is located on the corner of
Victoria and County Road C in Roseville. This land has 10 1/2
acres with the existing building on the site is 44,547 sq feet.
The Roseville School District is willing to sell the land when the
current renter’s lease expires in 2008. We will find solutions
to the overhead electrical towers that border the property and the
city park across Country Road C. These solutions will insure that
the center is not affected. There are also ball fields on the
property needing to be considered.
This location offers easy access to Central Park which will create
opportunities for coordination of community events that include the
park. It also will be available for supporting the number of
businesses around this location.
Private Rooms and Areas
There would be several private rooms for clients to rest between
therapies. Also, a number of short term overnight rooms or
suites will be constructed for clients that are not well enough to
leave and need 24hr supervision.
The plan is to also own homes in the surrounding community that will
be available for clients that wish to stay short term and use the
facilities for healing purposes. These homes will also allow for a
24hr nursing staff on hand if the situation is required.
Public Rooms for Instruction and Practice
Within the buildings there will be treatment rooms in addition to
open rooms for practice and group instruction.
The Center could have rooms equipped for many activities, such yoga
and therapeutic dance, pilates, community rooms that may include art
and woodworking and other interest in the community. Since the
Center is meant to instruct members on achieving and maintaining a
healthy lifestyle, it will also have learning rooms, where classes
for all different aspect of our life will be taught. Class / lecture
rooms will provide an area for instructional purposes, lectures,
guest speakers and demonstrations.
Therapeutic Pool
The Center will incorporate a chemical free therapeutic pool and
current pool with lifts to enable handicap accessibility. This would
make it available to all members of the community.
Organic Restaurant
An organic restaurant and juice bar will be located on the premises.
There would be a commercial kitchen that is both functional for food
preparation and a classroom that can be used to teach people the art
of healthy food preparation. There would be options for a meal plan
and possible opportunities to distribute food to those unable to get
to the center.
MEDICAL FACILITY AND PRACTITIONERS
The Center will house a medical facility that would include both
allopathic and integrative practitioners working together for the
highest good of the patient. There will be a computerized system
available that will be able to run diagnostics on clients, and give
an overall assessment for the priority of care required.
Available offices could be shared by a number of practitioners each
coming in for specific days and some practitioners will be there
full time. The varying expertise will open accessibility to a large
pool of knowledge and experience for the community it is serving.
The vision includes having most practitioners from the community
who would be serving and benefiting from the center. This creates
more connectedness and community.
These practitioners may include some of the following, with more
areas being added as staff and services expand:
Medical Doctor
Nursing staff
Chiropractors
Acupuncturist
Nutritionist
Colon Hydro-therapist
Massage Therapist
Energy Medicine Practitioner
Healing rooms
Chiropractic Neurologist
Guided meditation
Aroma therapist
Music and light therapies
Yoga and gentle stretching
Water therapies
Physical therapist
Herbologist
Sensory integration therapies
Those who work at the center will be supported to continue in their
own healing and spiritual growth.
Once established, we will have free clinic opportunities for those
who need financial assistance and show commitment to their healing
path.
GARDENS, GREENHOUSE AND GROUNDS
There will be gardens around the building and a green house on top
of the building that grows plants and herbs used by the restaurant.
This green house will be tended by those in the community who will
enjoy such activities during summer and winter months...
JUNGLE THERAPY ROOM
This will be a large muscle room that is created with intention of
therapy and igniting the imagination. The room will follow the
jungle theme with ropes and bridges, trees and lots of cushions for
climbing. It will be a safe place to play and build strength
at the same time. It will be used to help stimulate different areas
of the brain and body and can be used in conjunction with many of
the other therapies.
I believe there also needs to be a climbing wall in the center.
CHILD CARE AND YOUTH CENTER
There will be a childcare center on site that would be available for
full/part time care as well as drop in care for those using the
services at the Center.
The Center will also offer after school hang out spaces for the
youth and young adults as well as giving them opportunities for
learning. The Center may also sponsor and staff occasional youth and
family events.
COMMUNITY CENTER APPROACH
The Roseville Life Center will offer something for all ages which
will form a link in bringing different generations together for the
benefit for all generations.
The Center is based on promoting respect, loving relationships and
loving-kindness which will be felt in and throughout the center and
enrich the lives of all who enter and are associated with the
center.
Product Store
There will be a store on site that will offer products, such as
supplements, herbs, or foods that are recommended by the
practitioners and requested by the community.
Business Opportunities
Other businesses that hold to the commitment of the center will have
space available for rent, such as saloons, spa’s and other retail
establishments
=====================================================
There will be a number of stages to this process.
We are in Stage 1 and located at:
Healing Within Wellness Center
3200 North Lexington Avenue
Shoreview, Minnesota 55126
(651) 490-3347 web site
www.healingwithinmn.com
The next step is to raise money to hire someone to set up a
non-profit organization that would help raise money for the larger
vision and build towards Stage 2.
We will then have an expanded version as Stage 2 and end up with our
final location in Stage 3.
Market research needs to be done and a list of people who would
consult with the:
1) Land and architecture layout
2) Who would do the market research (necessary for financial
consideration, grants, loans, and government classifications?
